Approximately 139,000 Audi vehicles have been recalled due to stress or wear of the body-sensing mat located in the front passenger seat. The defect may cause the front passenger airbag to deploy improperly in the case of an accident, increasing the chance of injury for those sitting in the passenger seat.
As of June 18th, 2018, the following Audi vehicles equipped with basic seats have been recalled:
- 2013-2018 Audi S6 and S7 sedans
- 2012-2018 Audi A6 and A7 sedans
- 2014-2018 Audi RS7 sedans
Audi dealers are willing to install a PODS system repair kit or any other related repairs free of charge.
