Mercedes-Benz is recalling over 22,000 models because of a defect that could prevent the front seats from locking into their proper placement. In the case of an accident, this defect could increase the risk of an injury.
In the case of an accident, any unsecured objects that are on the back of seats may become loose and fly into the air. This presents potential injuries to passengers who are sitting in the front seat.
Cars Affected
The cars that are affected include 22,637 2017-2018 C300, C43 AMG, C63 AMG and E400 models. Affected vehicles have seatbacks of the front two seats that don’t properly lock on the right portion of the seat. It isn’t known if there are any injuries or accidents that are related to the vehicle.
Mercedes-Benz began notifying drivers if their vehicle has been affected on April 26th. You can also visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website and enter your VIN number to see if your vehicle has been impacted.
