Michigan has specific laws related to motor vehicle warranties. For example, the Michigan lemon law covers any motor vehicle designed as a sports utility vehicle, passenger vehicle, van, or pickup truck. It does not cover vehicles such as buses, trucks, and motor homes. The law covers any defect or condition that prevents or impairs use of a new motor vehicle by the consumer or violates the express warranty of the manufacturer.
Below is the link to a document that summarizes lemon laws specific to the state of Michigan. The document is in a downloadable, printable PDF format.
If you have read through the document and are still not sure whether you qualify for the remedies available under Michigan’s lemon laws, such as compensation from the auto manufacturer, or should you have any general questions about lemon laws, Michigan’s state warranty laws, or any parts of the document below, please feel free to contact one of our representatives at Krohn & Moss Consumer Law Center by calling 1 (800) 875-3666 or sending us a message.
