248,912 Ford vehicles are being recalled due to faulty door latches. These latches have been shown to be susceptible to cracking when exposed to heat, especially in regions that are typically warm. A cracked latch can prevent the door from properly closing despite multiple attempts. In some cases, the door may open while the vehicle is on the road. This potential malfunction can happen to any of the four-doors. Ford has stated that it is unaware of any crashes or injuries related to the faulty latches.
